As a Clinical Diabetes Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional development of paediatric clinical and non-clinical staff, as well as working directly with children and their parents within a multi-disciplinary team.

Main Duties of the Job

You will have a sound knowledge base of paediatric diabetes and the skills to apply your specialist diabetes knowledge to teaching colleagues, parents, and children in the management of their care. To be effective in this role, you will need outstanding communication and teaching skills, as well as the ability to engage your audience in what you are teaching.

We will offer you clinical supervision, regular appraisal, and support in achieving your personal development plan, as well as peer support from colleagues in similar roles. Child health will ensure excellent development opportunities and a range of expertise for advice and support in your role. Secondment to national, regional study days and networking events will be actively supported.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Alongside teaching, you will have a good understanding of diabetes technology and be able to support children and young people with their digital devices. You will be passionate about supporting young people in developing their independence into adult services and also through transition.
