About the Role

The Principal Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the team that supports the Engineering Manager and external specialists in the development and analysis of platform power systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering lifecycle, knowledge of power systems architecture, modelling, and operation, as well as experience working within industry codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Lead the production of high-quality deliverables, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Maintain and develop team skills and competencies, driving innovation and best practices.
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and issue resolution, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence and ensure effective problem-solving.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly, concisely, and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • BEng (Hons) / MEng degree or equivalent, and CEng status or ability to achieve it.
  • Demonstrable experience in engineering lifecycle, preferably in a relevant industry.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards, such as defence standards.
  • Knowledge of power systems architecture, modelling, generation, distribution, protection, and operation.
