Job Overview:

We are seeking an Electrical Power Engineering Specialist to join our team in Northampton. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning qualifications over a four-year period.

The successful candidate will spend most of their time out and about from their local depot, learning about all technical aspects of Lighting & Grid. They will also attend block release training programs to gain formal qualifications including courses to provide trade skills such as plant operation and live electrical connections to the underground power distribution network.

This is a hands-on role, so the ideal candidate will need to be ready to work in site-based environments including public highway and construction sites.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language and Science.
  • A real interest in engineering shown by relevant work placements, studies, hobbies or projects.
  • A passion for safety and PPE requirements.
  • Team-oriented with confidence to work independently when required.

This role comes with an estimated salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum and includes a market-leading benefits package with 26 days holiday + bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, life cover, bonus and flexible benefits.
