About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer to join our dynamic and friendly CT team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality images across a range of CT examinations.
  • Manage and support a team of Radiographers and students.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the CT service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to monitor and manage resources.
  • Promote education and training within the CT department.
  • Maintain up-to-date competency records and participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Provide a 24/7 service to support the hospital and ensure a consistently safe and efficient CT service.
Requirements
  • BSc in Radiography or Diploma of College of Radiographers.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Relevant post-registration experience in a specialist area.
  • Demonstrate empathy, tact, and understanding of patients' clinical and emotional situations.
  • Participate in and influence service development as required.
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Our services are provided from three locations:

  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds.
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient facility.
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services serving the local rural population.

We employ over 6,258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire, as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire with a population of approximately 50,000.

We are a busy district general hospital, and in 2022/2023, there were over 503,342 patient attendances, ranging from simple outpatient appointments to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year.
