Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radiographer to join our dynamic and friendly CT team at The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, providing an exciting opportunity to work in a busy district general hospital with a strong focus on patient care and service development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality images across a range of CT examinations, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Manage and support a team of band 5 Radiographers and students, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the CT service, including resource management and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to develop and implement service improvements, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques, participating in ongoing education and training to maintain expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of the CT team, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients, working collaboratively within the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Our services are delivered from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. We employ over 6,258 staff, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.

Requirements
  • BSc in Radiography or Diploma of College of Radiographers.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Relevant post-registration experience in specialist areas, with a strong focus on CT imaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Please note that applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check, with costs deducted from salary following appointment. We encourage applicants to enrol for the DBS Update Service, with a small annual fee of £13 per year. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
