Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radiographer to join our dynamic and friendly CT team at The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, providing an exciting opportunity to work in a busy district general hospital with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality images across a range of CT examinations, ensuring accurate and efficient diagnosis.
  • Manage and support a team of band 5 Radiographers and students, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the CT service, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to monitor resources and tailor them to meet the needs of the service within budget constraints.
  • Promote education and training within the CT department, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices.
  • Actively participate in CPD, maintaining and updating competency records to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Provide a 24/7 service to support the hospital, ensuring a consistently safe and efficient CT service.
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership, providing acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.

We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide services from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. Our services include 438 general and acute beds, 56 beds for rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient care, and a range of community services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • BSc in Radiography or Diploma of College of Radiographers.
  • HCPC registered.

Desirable

  • Recognised cannulation qualification.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Relevant post-registration experience in specialist area.
  • Demonstrate empathy, tact, and understanding of patients' clinical and emotional situations.
  • Participate in or influence service development as required.

Desirable

  • IM & T experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
