Job Summary:

Immunocore is seeking a skilled Laboratory Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for the delivery, maintenance, and support of laboratory services, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the laboratory CAFM system, human resources, and associated asset management systems to ensure all maintenance activity is coordinated, compliant, and cost-effective.
  • Direct line management of resources associated with delivery, including staff management, development, and support.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Director to develop new policies and ideas to improve company operations.
  • Manage a small team to drive operational efficiency in lab asset service maintenance.
  • Ensure the maintenance and renewal of scientific equipment contracts and organize equipment repairs on a daily basis.
  • Manage small projects, support Facilities-related relocation and design projects, and ensure all scientific equipment-related contractors are booked for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to Immunocore's H&S policy and are correctly inducted before entering any parts of the buildings.
  • Assist the Facilities Director in coordinating contractors to carry out works.
  • Manage and own associated databases, ensuring they are operated and utilized correctly by all users.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure Immunocore receives best value, service, and maximizes the functionality of the system(s).
  • Line management of the team, providing guidance and coaching to junior members.
  • Set meaningful own and team objectives to drive strong performance.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments for all works managed by Immunocore.
  • Liaise with EHS to ensure compliance throughout all laboratories.

Requirements:
  • Advanced understanding of in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, and concepts within the lab assets function.
  • Experience in the differing requirements of laboratories and associated equipment.
  • Advanced understanding and experience of 'asset management' in relation to planned maintenance and statutory inspections.
  • Held roles previously in the management capacity of a manager, specifically in relation to asset management of business assets.
  • Managed service delivery to a demanding customer group.
  • Strong commercial awareness of contract management and previous experience working with contractors.
  • Successfully managed a small team including data administrators.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Desirable:
  • Previously provided facilities/laboratory support within a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and associated infrastructure equipment.
  • Worked in Facilities support in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector highly beneficial.

Education & Qualifications:
  • Degree calibre.
  • Expert in MS Excel.
  • Demonstratable ability to use IT systems specifically around data capture and scheduling.
  • FM qualification (D).
