Laboratory Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to lead our metallurgical testing services at Metaltest UK, a UKAS accredited facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the laboratory, ensuring that services meet the requirements of the quality management system, and performing mechanical and metallographic testing in accordance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage laboratory services and operations, including maintaining accreditations and regulatory standards.
- Perform and support mechanical and metallographic testing in accordance with international standards and in-house test procedures.
- Produce accurate, repeatable, and reliable testing data for a wide range of tests and customers.
- Ensure laboratory staff are appropriately trained for relevant tasks.
- Review updates to controlling standards and ensure staff training in-line with changes.
- Specify, maintain, operate, and organise the calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Day-to-day management of laboratory personnel and workload.
- Ensure the laboratory is sufficiently well-stocked and resourced.
- Promote continuous improvement activities of the laboratory.
