Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide expert care to patients with diabetes, focusing on the development and implementation of innovative nursing practices.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience working as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, with a strong background in clinical practice, education, and research. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, providing education and support to patients and their families, and contributing to the development of evidence-based clinical nursing practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with diabetes, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of their condition.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver education and support to patients and their families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Contribute to the development of nursing practice within the team, participating in research initiatives and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current literature and research in diabetes nursing, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Person Specification
  • Significant experience working as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
  • NMC Level 1 or Level 15 Registered Nurse.
  • Postgraduate qualification or further studies/course in Diabetes.
