Specialist Diabetes Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced highly specialist practitioner psychologist to join our team at The Diabetes Times as part of the adult diabetes service. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological screening, assessment and treatment to patients with type 1 / complex type 2 diabetes and associated psychological difficulties.
The ideal candidate will become a valuable source of psychological expertise for the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). In addition to direct work with diabetes patients, this post will ensure frequent opportunities for consultation and teaching within the MDT setting.

Salary: Estimated £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in specialist diabetes mental health practice. You will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological screening, assessment, and treatment to patients with type 1 / complex type 2 diabetes and associated psychological difficulties
- Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals
- Contribute to research and development initiatives within the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience (IoPPN)
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in Clinical Psychology or a related field
- Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) or equivalent
- Experience of working in a specialist mental health setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
