Women's Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Gynaecology Outpatients team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the needs of patients, their families, and the wider healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure, and be flexible in a fast-paced outpatient environment. They will also have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and be committed to maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
The role involves assisting clinicians with outpatient clinics, providing support for ambulatory sessions, and contributing to the development of innovative practices using a research-based approach.
Main Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, taking into account own training and competence.
- Ensure accurate and legible nursing records and documents.
- Follow local and national guidelines, protocols, and policies in regards to Infection Prevention & Control.
- Participate in maintaining agreed standards for ward cleanliness and assist with Infection Control checks and audits.
- Keep accurate records of patient care according to Trust Policy and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Act as or provide suitably trained persons to act as chaperones at the request of patients and staff.
- Develop and deliver agreed standards of nursing care.
- Use appropriate pathways in clinical procedures in clinic, WHO check list.
- Assist in developing innovative practices using a research-based approach.
- Manage the clinical area in the absence of more senior staff.
- Ensure safe storage, use, and administration of all medicines and substances according to local policy.
- Registered Nurse educated to diploma/degree level.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Knowledge in a range of specialties within a NHS environment.
- IT literate and able to use a range of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Women's health knowledge.
- Previous experience in the NHS.
- Experience of clinical governance and risk management.
- Gynaecology outpatient settings including colposcopy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Diplomatic manner.
- Able to prioritise and manage workload.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working in a changing environment.
- Adaptable.
- Able to demonstrate understanding/empathy.
- Forward thinking.
- Able to work either as part of a team or on own.
- Flexibility around working hours/days worked.
- Good telephone skills.
