Specialist Urogynaecology Nurse Practitioner Trainee

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of Trust/department objectives and business plans, as well as the daily organisation of service/patient caseload.
Key responsibilities will include documentation, data collection and monitoring, human resources and recruitment, staff appraisal, supervision and mentorship, induction, monitoring of service, and service development.
The Specialist Urogynaecology Nurse Practitioner Trainee will also be responsible for assisting in the collection of PROMs to evaluate services and involvement of FFT to evaluate and develop nurse-led and urogynae services.
Additionally, the role will involve supporting the urogynaecology service in the continuing operational and strategic development of specialist services within Urogynaecology.
This will include outpatient flexible cystoscopy and associated treatments (BOTOX, urethral bulking) and SNS/PTNS.
Key skills and qualifications required for the role include maintaining own registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with recognised revalidation process, maintaining own personal and professional development, and maintaining and updating Trust mandatory training as appropriate.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing written health information for patients with specialist urogynaecology conditions, providing education and support for visiting junior doctors and nurses, and contributing to informal and formal teaching of all visiting staff.
Furthermore, the role will involve ensuring user involvement in the development of urogynaecology specialist services through the use of surveys, audit and attendance at relevant meetings.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for acting as a mentor for students and other junior staff, presenting cases at multidisciplinary team meetings, and disseminating patient data including post-operative findings through the national urogynaecology BSUG database.
The Specialist Urogynaecology Nurse Practitioner Trainee will also be responsible for supporting the unit on obtaining and maintaining unit accreditation for Urogynaecology (BSUG), initiating and participating in management of change to broaden activities, standards and communication links through Acute Trust and Primary Care.
Key skills and qualifications required for the role include maintaining information systems to aid required audit and to provide regular activity analysis reports, contributing to effective and efficient working to ensure a good quality patient experience, and managing and participating in specific projects as required.
The role will also involve promoting and developing the equality of opportunity in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy, protecting the confidentiality of information relating to the Trust, Patient and Staff or other agencies, and providing a quality service to internal and external agencies and participating/developing clinical governance within sphere of responsibility.
The Specialist Urogynaecology Nurse Practitioner Trainee will also be responsible for adhering to the Trust's agreed policies and procedures, being familiar with, and complying with, Trust policies and guidelines for infection control and hand hygiene in order to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections.
The role will also involve sharing responsibility for abiding by health and safety policies and regulations, infection prevention and control policies and acting in accordance with the Risk Management Policy, and minimising the Trust's environmental impact by recycling wherever possible, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use, minimising water usage and reporting faults promptly.
