This role is based in a location that is easily accessible from surrounding areas via well-connected roadways.
Position Overview:
The Mechanical Technician will bring a robust set of engineering skills and relevant hands-on experience for troubleshooting and installation tasks. Candidates should hold CompEx Mechanical qualifications and have experience in hazardous environments. Familiarity with top-tier CoMAH regulations and associated environmental, health, and safety legislative requirements is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee workload to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient maintenance of all machinery and equipment in accordance with CMMS task instructions and statutory guidelines.
- Complete daily tasks to high standards using CMMS job sheets for routine maintenance, repairs, and testing of site equipment, ensuring accurate job completion.
- Responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all relevant mechanical systems, ensuring all work meets the highest standards and deadlines.
- Collaborate with the engineering supervisor to fulfill CMMS jobs and task lists, ensuring timely completion and proper closure.
- Work alongside the engineering supervisor to guarantee that all mechanical project plans, enhancements, repairs, and shutdowns are executed to the required standards and timelines.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of capital projects, including labor provision, contract labor supervision, technical/process data, and thorough commissioning and handover of installed systems.
- Identify necessary repairs/upgrades and routine maintenance to optimize and sustain plant efficiency and availability.
- Report any equipment defects, faults, or alarms, ensuring that issues are addressed appropriately and unsafe items are isolated and communicated.
- Support the engineering department by flexibly responding to business needs, which may include performing basic electrical tasks and operating forklifts, in line with competencies and departmental requirements.
- HNC Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in either COMHA or PSSR environments.
