Role Overview:
The Mechanical Technician will bring a diverse set of engineering skills and practical experience to address troubleshooting and installation tasks. The ideal candidate will hold CompEx Mechanical qualifications and have experience in hazardous environments. Familiarity with top-tier CoMAH regulations and related environmental, health, and safety legislative requirements is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee workload to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient maintenance of all machinery and equipment according to CMMS task instructions, legal obligations, and technical specifications.
- Complete daily tasks to established standards using CMMS job sheets for routine maintenance, repairs, and testing of site equipment, ensuring accurate job completion.
- Responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all relevant mechanical systems, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards and within required timelines.
- Collaborate with the engineering supervisor to fulfill CMMS tasks and ensure timely completion and proper closure of jobs.
- Assist the engineering supervisor in ensuring that all mechanical project plans, enhancements, repairs, and shutdowns are executed to the appropriate standards and timelines.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of capital projects, including labor provision, supervision of contract personnel, technical data provision, and thorough commissioning and handover of installed systems.
- Identify necessary repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance to optimize and sustain plant availability and efficiency.
- Report all equipment defects, faults, or alarms, ensuring that any issues are addressed appropriately and that unsafe items are isolated and communicated.
- Support the engineering department by flexibly responding to business needs through additional tasks, including basic electrical work and fork lift operation, in line with competencies and departmental requirements.
- HNC Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience working on COMHA or PSSR sites.
