Role Overview:
The Mechanical Technician will bring a robust set of engineering skills and practical experience essential for troubleshooting and installation tasks. Candidates should ideally hold CompEx Mechanical qualifications and have experience in hazardous environments. Familiarity with top-tier CoMAH regulations and related environmental, health, and safety legislative requirements is crucial for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage maintenance tasks to ensure safe, standardized, and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment in accordance with CMMS task instructions and statutory regulations.
  • Execute daily maintenance work to high standards using CMMS job sheets for routine repairs and testing of site equipment, ensuring thorough completion of all tasks.
  • Responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all relevant mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the engineering supervisor to complete CMMS jobs and task lists, ensuring timely execution and proper closure.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of mechanical projects, improvements, repairs, and shutdowns to meet established standards and timelines.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of capital projects, providing labor support, supervising contract workers, and ensuring thorough commissioning and handover of installed systems.
  • Identify and recommend necessary repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance to optimize plant efficiency and availability.
  • Report all equipment defects, faults, or alarms, ensuring that any unsafe conditions are appropriately managed and communicated.
  • Support the engineering department by performing additional tasks as needed, including basic electrical work and forklift operation, in line with competencies and departmental needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • HNC Degree or equivalent apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working on COMAH or PSSR sites.
