About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Head of Business Development to join our team at Antony James Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new opportunities, and executing go-to-market strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Market Entry Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute a comprehensive market entry strategy, ensuring smooth product adoption and successful market penetration.
  • Customer Network: Foster and strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders to expand the customer network and enhance our visibility in the marketplace.
  • Partnership Building: Lead business development initiatives focused on partnership building and lead generation. Identify new opportunities for strategic alliances that align with our growth objectives.
  • Sales Collaboration: Partner with the sales team to support the closure of high-value deals. Leverage industry knowledge to address customer needs, overcome objections, and drive sales conversions.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular updates on business development activities, including market trends, partnership opportunities, and customer feedback, to inform our strategic direction.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or business development role within the Life Sciences or biotechnology sector.
  • Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
  • Proven track record of identifying market opportunities and successfully developing strategic partnerships within the biotechnology industry.
  • Strong network in biotechnology, particularly in areas like Process Development, Gene & Cell Therapy, and other large molecule modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer needs and relationship management.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment and drive initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
