Learning Disability Specialist Lead

This role has been funded to align with the priorities set out in the draft Birmingham and Solihull Three Year Strategic Plan for Mental Health Inpatient Services. The salary range for this position is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.

The role is primarily aimed at supporting admission avoidance, reducing the length of stay in hospital, and facilitating quicker discharge for people with learning disabilities and autism within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust.

This specialist role requires an experienced professional with specialist knowledge of learning disability and autism to ensure that those with more complex requirements are well supported in the community and as part of their discharge planning.

The post holder will be expected to work alongside senior clinical leads and colleagues to provide oversight and co-ordination of the inpatient cohort including admission avoidance strategies, supporting to facilitate the discharging of clients, and ensuring that those who are delayed in their discharge get the clinical and professional support they need.
