Part-Time Companion for Young Adult with Autism

Disability North is seeking a Part-Time Companion to support a 21-year-old undergraduate student at Durham University who lives in college.
The ideal candidate will have good listening skills, a sense of humour and empathy, as well as experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
A car driver would be preferred, and an appreciation of classical music or the ability to speak German or Russian would be an asset.
The successful applicant will provide social support and befriending for the young man, reducing his social isolation at weekends. This may involve going for walks, having coffee, and attending classical concerts together.
In return for their time and effort, the successful candidate can expect a competitive rate of pay, estimated to be around £300-£400 per month, depending on the number of hours worked.
