About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking organization, providing psychological interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate common mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver brief evidence-based therapeutic interventions within a stepped care model for children and young people with common mental health problems, including depression and anxiety disorders.
  • Work under supervision to develop skills and knowledge in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based interventions.
  • Attend university-based taught and self-study days as part of the Postgraduate Diploma in Brief Evidence-Based Interventions for CYP with Common Mental Health Problems.
  • Contribute to the development of a new state-of-the-art 8-bed PICU and work in partnership with The Princes Trust to support individuals getting into work.

Requirements
  • Education to undergraduate degree level.
  • Able to attend formal training and complete academic components of the course.
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
  • Computer literate and able to demonstrate an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.
