Job Overview

The JAQ Group is a leading e-commerce group in the UK, with a strong focus on growth and expansion. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller and wider finance team, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. This will involve daily bookkeeping and reconciliations, as well as maintaining accurate records of purchase and sales ledgers, banking, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and no backlog of transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase and sales ledgers, including coding and posting of invoices, payments, and supplier/customer account maintenance.
  • Reconcile banks to accounting systems and understand underlying transactions.
  • Assist in preparation and posting of payroll information to financial and banking systems.
  • Review and improve financial processes and controls, encouraging automation efficiencies where possible.
  • Input and support in preparation of financial information, such as cash flow reporting, financial models, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Input and support in financial performance analysis and recommendations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced IT skills and experience of working with high volume data sets.
  • Experience using ecommerce/finance/payroll software.
  • Desirable: experience of working within a Retail, Marketplace, or DTC/eCommerce business, and a fast-growing environment.
  • Desirable: holds or working towards an accounting qualification.
