Nurse - Older Adults Care Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents in Older Adults nursing homes and Short-Term Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering person-centred, professional nursing care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans for a designated number of residents.
Main Responsibilities
- Providing person-centred, professional nursing care to residents
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans
- Maintaining accurate records on resident care and reporting clinical and non-clinical events
- Supervising, mentoring, supporting, and educating more junior staff
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Phlebotomy, injections, syringe pumps, insertion/removal of urinary catheters, and removal of sutures
- Dealing with wounds
- Supporting end-of-life care
- Involving and engaging with residents and their families during the care planning process
Safeguarding
- Adhering to internal safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidance
- Taking action and raising concerns as appropriate
- Having an understanding and awareness of the specific responsibilities placed on individuals who care for vulnerable adults
