About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join our Fleet team at Royal Mail Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering Fleet performance and meeting the requirements of our Operator in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring compliance with legal and safety policies, meeting safety targets, and delivering maintenance services while optimizing cost performance and forecasting through resource planning and booking tools.
  2. Optimizing the efficiency of Fleet Workshops to meet industry standard performance levels and deploying changes related to Fleet Workshops.
  3. Effectively engaging, communicating, and coaching to support and develop the Fleet Workshop team.
  4. Being accountable for achieving all agreed targets, including internal Customer targets with SLAs, through effective performance management techniques.
  5. Actively deploying, managing, and supporting the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standard within Fleet Workshops and supporting Continuous Improvement activity within the Workshops.
  6. Effectively managing the local IR interface, working collaboratively with union colleagues to deliver change.
  7. You will also be responsible for any mobile sites and sub-locations under the control of the Workshop and/or Cluster.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to be fully qualified to at least advanced level (IMI Level 3) in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification. You should be an established team leader with relevant Industry knowledge and experience of dispersed maintenance operations.

You will lead, develop, and coach to drive performance improvement and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility to ensure effective cover across multiple shift operations. You may be required to travel to other sites within your area of responsibility.
