Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Pay and Benefits Strategy Lead to drive the transformation of our pay, reward, and industrial relations function. This high-profile role demands a track record of successful negotiations with trade unions through periods of change, preferably in complex operating environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating and implementing pay matters, as well as a deep understanding of strategic management, procurement processes, and equality, diversity, and inclusion issues.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, reviewing, negotiating, and implementing the pay review process.
- Managing annual and other pay negotiations and consultations, ensuring stakeholder engagement and information sharing.
- Developing and implementing a rewards strategy, reviewing new and existing rewards and benefits to meet employee needs.
- Owning and updating pay, rewards, and benefit-related policies, consulting stakeholders and conducting impact assessments.
- Leading the design and implementation of an industrial relations strategy, representing the Brigade at union meetings.
- Supporting job evaluation processes to ensure pay, rewards, and benefits align with roles.
Required skills and qualifications:
- CIPD qualification or senior-level HR experience in a large public sector organization.
- Proven experience engaging, consulting, and negotiating with trade unions and staff networks.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of leading staff through change and transition.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
