About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Communications Lead to join our team at The Cigna Group. As a key member of our Global Individual Health (GIH) segment, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective internal and external communications strategies that drive business growth and improve stakeholder engagement.

Key ResponsibilitiesInternal Communications
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives.
  • Lead and manage a range of employee engagement initiatives, including leadership calls, town halls, and reward and recognition programs.
  • Collaborate with HR to deliver a coordinated program of internal communications and engagement activities that support GIH's commitment to being a great place to work.
  • Partner with our IH and wider segment/region communications teams to leverage centralized capabilities.
  • Operate as the GIH internal communications representative for cross-segment internal communication projects.
  • Use data and analytics to track progress and make continuous improvements to our internal communications initiatives.
External Communications
  • Work closely with the GIH CMO to develop an external communications plan that builds awareness and reputation of GIH in key markets.
  • Develop and execute targeted communications plans for the launch of key projects, collaborations, product launches, and brand events.
  • Responsible for creating press releases, media materials, and other external communications assets.
  • Manage media relationships, place key features across agreed media, and evaluate media outreach.
  • Stay ahead of key industry news and updates, as well as competitor activity.
About You
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, and at least 5+ years' experience in a corporate communications role or public relations agency.
  • Deep experience in internal communications, including the ability to shape a strategy informed by data and that drives goals and results.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality content.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to learn about and understand the segment and the complex global environment our teams operate in.
  • Track record of success handling multiple projects, with a flair for storytelling and a media-savvy mindset.
  • Collaborative candidate with a passion for corporate affairs, with experience in stakeholder management and crisis communication.
  • Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented, and 'can-do' mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and flexibility in a fast-paced, complex, ever-changing work environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a team setting, with executive presence for interacting with C-level executives and senior leaders.
  • Tact and discretion to work with employees at all levels, including those in front-line service roles.
  • Willingness to come into the office majority of the time, with occasional travel.
