About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's mental health needs, working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including DBT skills, Mentalisation-based therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their mental health.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to provide a holistic and supportive approach to care.
  • Participate in multi-agency working, collaborating with health, social care, and education professionals to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that they are tailored to the individual's needs and goals.

Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Learning Disability Nurse, or Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body, such as the NMC or HCPC.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency setting, with a focus on partnership working and collaboration.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs, including those with complex social situations and neurodevelopmental challenges.
