About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our Family Support Team within the Safeguarding Outcomes Service at Bath and North East Somerset Council.

As a Senior Social Work Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children and families in need, working closely with our dynamic teams to deliver high-quality services and interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and families with complex needs, providing expert assessment, planning, and intervention to promote positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the service and partner agencies to ensure effective delivery of services and support to children and families.
  • Develop and implement outcome-focused plans, working closely with families to build resilience and promote positive change.
  • Contribute to the development of service policies and procedures, ensuring they are informed by best practice and evidence-based.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior colleagues, promoting their professional development and well-being.
Requirements
  • Relevant social work qualification and significant experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework governing children's services and ability to apply this in practice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, families, and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
