Job Summary
The Senior Hospitality Assistant will work closely with the Chef to prepare and cook food for residents in our care homes. This role requires a strong focus on quality, consistency, and compliance with modified diets and care/nutrition/hydration needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day food and drinks service across allocated care homes, tailored to meet the needs and preferences of residents.
- Work alongside the Chef to ensure quality, timings, consistency, and compliance in relation to modified diets and care/nutrition/hydration needs.
- Deputise for the Chef, including cooking the evening meal and breakfast in care homes.
- Support Resident Support Assistants with plating and presentation of food for care home residents.
- Conduct day-to-day compliance checks in relation to temperature checks/controls, quality and presentation, labelling food, allergens, etc.
- Responsible for day-to-day cleanliness, hygiene, and washing up after a food service.
- Assist with stock management, rotation, and ordering.
- Safely close down the kitchen at the end of the day in line with protocols in preparation for the next day.
Requirements
- Food hygiene qualification level 2
- Good standard of general education/GCSE maths and English
- Experience working in a care home environment
- Experience working in a catering environment
- Knowledge and experience of good food hygiene practices
- Knowledge of health and safety principles
Desirable Qualifications
- Diploma (or NVQ) level 2 Catering/Food Service or equivalent
- Experience supervising a team
Working with St Monica Trust
This role requires a strong focus on quality, consistency, and compliance with modified diets and care/nutrition/hydration needs. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to residents and colleagues.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £12.43 per hour, with a salary range of £24,238.50. The role is part-time, with a time type of part-time.
