Mental Health Clinical Assessor

The role of Clinical Assessor – Nurse offers an exciting opportunity to support the Victims' Payment Board in delivering a clinical assessment service for the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme. This position requires experienced nurses and allied health professionals with expertise or experience in mental health or psychiatric backgrounds, holding more than two years' post-registration experience.
Key Benefits:
- A competitive basic salary of £38,500 per annum, with the potential to increase up to £41,400 plus up to 10% bonus.
- Initial 6 weeks' training and ongoing support provided (Fully Paid).
- Flexible work patterns, working between 8am and 8pm, contracted to 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week.
- Hybrid Working - predominantly working from home, with clinic visits required.
- 23 days' holiday, plus additional benefits.
Responsibilities:
- To meet face-to-face with applicants to review available medical evidence and determine the permanence of their condition and percentage disablement.
- To play a proactive role in seeking insight and further medical evidence from GPs, other healthcare professionals, or services to support applicant's TPDPS application.
- To gather relevant information from applicants and representatives, analyse and interpret clinical information, and compile comprehensive reports in a professional and concise manner.
Criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience.
- Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the NMC.
- Demonstrable background in Mental Health/Psychiatric specialty.
- Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
