Mental Health Support Worker Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to individuals facing mental health challenges, ensuring their specific needs are met.
  • Assist in creating and implementing personalised care plans that address the unique requirements of each individual.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes mental well-being and encourages positive interactions.
  • Regularly monitor and document the individual's progress, offering constructive feedback to facilitate personal growth.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities to enhance overall well-being and improve social skills.
  • Work alongside other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for individuals in need.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Mental Health Support Worker position is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health issues and relevant safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with individuals and their families.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
  • A patient and understanding approach, when facing challenging behaviour.
