Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with staff and students to provide individualized support, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and self-care techniques. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support sessions for students.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitoring students' progress and communicating effectively with teachers.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • A strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students.
Working Arrangements:

Staff will work term-time, from 08:30 - 15:30. Both part-time and full-time applicants are welcome to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
