About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Integrated Mental Health Service team at Wokingham Borough Council. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mental health settings and possess a deep understanding of relevant legislation, including Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Human Rights. You will work collaboratively with care providers, Social Care Practitioners, and voluntary organisations to ensure individuals' needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold a mental health caseload and conduct regular assessments to identify individuals' needs and goals
  • Develop and implement care plans that address specific needs and promote independence
  • Act as a supervisor and mentor to junior staff members to ensure consistency in practice
  • Identify safeguarding adult and children concerns and implement safeguarding policies and processes
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Post-qualification experience in mental health settings (minimum 5 years)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Human Rights legislation
