Teaching Assistant for Students with Special Needs

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic psychology graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Cheadle.

This full-time position starts immediately and runs until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role depending on performance. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in an educational setting while making a positive difference in students' lives.

This role is ideal for a psychology graduate seeking hands-on experience in an educational setting, particularly if you are exploring a career in education, child psychology, or special educational needs (SEN) support.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with students who have special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, or emotional and behavioral difficulties, to ensure they are fully supported in accessing the curriculum.
  • Delve targeted interventions to support students' learning, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment, assisting with lesson preparation and supporting students during lessons.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in psychology or a closely related field is essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people, particularly those with diverse learning needs.
  • Flexible and proactive in meeting the dynamic needs of the school environment.
Additional Information:
  • Salary: £26,164 per annum (pro rata)
