Teaching Support Professional

This Science Graduate Teaching Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate to develop their skills and contribute to the educational development of students in a secondary school setting.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline and a genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting young people. Strong communication skills to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and confidently are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Small Group Support: Providing targeted support to small groups of students who may need additional help understanding key science concepts.
- Mentoring Individuals: Assisting individual students in overcoming challenges in their learning, boosting confidence, and improving academic performance.
- Classroom Collaboration: Collaborating with science teachers during lessons to engage students, manage classroom activities, and support practical experiments.
- STEM Promotion: Inspiring students to explore careers and further studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
- Exam Preparation: Helping students prepare for tests and exams by reviewing content, conducting revision sessions, and teaching effective study techniques.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers.
- Resource Management: Assisting in preparing lesson materials, setting up experiments, and organizing lab equipment.
- Behavior Support: Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behavior effectively and building strong relationships with students.
Requirements:
- Graduate Qualification: A degree in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline is necessary.
- Passion for Education: A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting young people is required.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and confidently are needed.
- Previous Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in education, tutoring, or working with young people is an advantage but not mandatory.

- Location: Cheadle
- Contract: Full-time, term-time only, until the end of the academic year
- Salary Range: £419.25 - £500 per week
