Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) teaching assistant to join our partner school's team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. They will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide tailored support to students, ensuring they have access to a meaningful and inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement highly-tailored lesson plans for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, enhancing their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students in developing independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a cohesive support network for students.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all students are engaged and included.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEND education.
Estimated Salary:

£25,000 - £35,000 per annum

Qualifications:

A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting students with special educational needs is essential. Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting is highly desirable.
