Mental Health Matters (MHM) is a national charity with over 35 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health and social care services. We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to train as a Mental Health Practitioner, specialising in Low Intensity Therapy.
As a trainee, you will work within our service while undertaking a programme of training at Newman University. You will progressively learn how to deliver low intensity interventions, at high volume, with patients with anxiety and depression.
You will receive excellent support in the role, including extensive clinical and caseload supervision. The post holder will split their time between university attendance and working in service, conducting assessments, and providing face-to-face and remote low-intensity interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals with mental health needs. If you have experience of working with adults who have experienced common mental health difficulties and can inspire and engage people, we would welcome your application.
The successful applicant will be trained to deliver low-intensity psychological interventions, which are the cornerstone of NHS Talking Therapies Services. They will also receive BABCP accreditation following six months of relevant patient contact.
Key Responsibilities:
- To conduct assessments and provide low-intensity interventions to patients with anxiety and depression
- To work within our service, while undertaking a programme of training at Newman University
- To receive excellent support, including extensive clinical and caseload supervision
- To attend university regularly and participate in the programme of training
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent. You should have significant experience of working with people who have suffered from mental health problems. You must be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs. You should also possess excellent motivational skills and an understanding of working with adults with complex needs.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary of £26,530 per annum
