About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our global organisation as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) within the surgery team in ophthalmic theatres. In this role, you will be responsible for pre-operative testing, conducting tests prior to examination and treatment, and assisting during consent appointment processes.

You will also be required to co-ordinate patient flow, manage queries, and undertake the role of HCA in IOL theatre to assist the surgical team and patients during surgery and associated tasks.

In addition, you will actively participate in end-of-treatment day activities, updating patient files, filing, compiling 'end-of-day' reports, and cleaning the department.

  • Key responsibilities include pre-operative testing, patient discharging, coordinating patient flow, assisting the surgeon during consent appointments and treatments, undertaking the role of HCA in IOL theatre, and participating in end-of-treatment day activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience within an optical or healthcare environment, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and the ability to absorb and convey highly technical information.

You should also be adaptable with a flexible approach to work, possess excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, and demonstrate confidentiality, integrity, and discretion.

A valid UK driving licence and own car are essential, and flexibility to travel to other clinics when required is also necessary.
