About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Assistant to join our team at ACES, providing high-quality patient care and support in a state-of-the-art environment.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within an optical or healthcare environment, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to absorb and convey highly technical information.

You will work closely with our expert consultant ophthalmologists to deliver life-changing cataract surgery and other eye care services, using new technologies and maintaining the highest levels of care at the cutting edge of ophthalmology.

The role involves pre-operative testing, instructing patients, updating medical records, making follow-up appointments, and coordinating patient flow on the day of consent and surgery appointments.

You will also assist the surgeon during consent appointments and treatments, acting as scrub assistant, taking notes for the surgeon, and undertaking the role of HCA in IOL theatre to assist the surgical team and patients during surgery.

Previous experience within an optical or healthcare environment

Exceptional communication and presentation skills

Ability to absorb and convey highly technical information

Adaptable with a flexible approach to work

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks

Confident and professional with fantastic organisational skills

Professional telephone manner

Demonstrate confidentiality, integrity, and discretion

A valid UK driving licence and own car is essential
