About Our Work

The Albert Kennedy Trust Ltd provides vital support to young LGBTQ+ individuals facing homelessness or vulnerably housed situations.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Services Manager to promote our services across the Northeast, Yorkshire and the Humber regions. This involves presenting at networking events and establishing relationships with external agencies to raise awareness about our organization.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting the Services Manager in overseeing daily operations, including casework, resource allocation, and safeguarding.
  2. Conducting holistic assessments of young people's needs and providing advice, support, and advocacy to resolve housing or related issues.
  3. Supervising volunteers and social work students, ensuring they receive adequate training and support.
  4. Maintaining local resources and signposting routes to enable young people to access appropriate services.
  5. Collaborating with the services team to find accommodation options and build relationships with providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
