About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in our Community Palliative Care Service. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff to provide compassionate and person-centered care to patients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses and healthcare assistants to provide high-quality patient care and support
  • Develop and maintain expertise in palliative nursing within the community setting
  • Assess the holistic needs of patients and their families, considering their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of patients and their families
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the education and training of nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of service standards
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license
  • Experience in palliative care and community nursing
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Knowledge of palliative care principles and practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
