About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at St Leonards Hospice. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nurses and healthcare assistants to provide excellent care to patients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management to our nursing team, ensuring high standards of patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in palliative nursing within the community setting, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practice.
  • Assess the holistic needs of patients and their families, considering their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Effectively prioritize and plan your workload, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, liaising with other departments and agencies as required.
  • Participate in the development of Hospice standards, policies, and research, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our services.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a strong background in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment, with a flexible approach to meet the changing needs of the post.
  • Knowledge of local area and experience of working within the community.
  • Digitally literate, with knowledge of Microsoft applications and experience of CPD and SystmOne.
