Strategic Policy and Planning Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Policy and Planning Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will specialise in spatial policy and have the opportunity to work across various themes and corporate projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- To prepare and input into relevant spatial planning documents, including Supplementary Planning Documents and masterplans.
- To play a key role in Local Plan formulation and delivery throughout all stages.
- Regularly monitor and report progress, proactively reviewing and driving improvements to ensure an effective S106 process.
- To work collaboratively with other teams across the organisation, providing a seamless service to residents, businesses, and developers.
- To be responsible for developing, monitoring, reviewing, and implementing plans, policies, procedures, and practices on behalf of the Authority.
- To collect and analyse planning-related information and data, preparing reports for various audiences.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years' experience within a local government or related policy environment, requiring strategic policy making and implementation knowledge.
- Experience managing and delivering projects from planning to implementation and evaluation.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and strategies effectively.
- Experience with bidding processes and securing funding applications.
