Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Compassionate Care Specialist to join our team at St Giles Hospice. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.

About the Role

The Compassionate Care Specialist will work closely with our clinical team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. This role involves supporting the nursing team in delivering holistic care that addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Making judgments on patients' responses to prescribed treatment/care plans and reporting findings to qualified professionals in line with competency frameworks.
  • Overcoming barriers to understanding for patients with hearing or cognitive impairments.
  • Communicating with patients/carers by exchanging factual information, reassurance, tact, and empathy.
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate working relationships with colleagues, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Being responsible for ensuring equipment is used safely, following relevant training, and that it is maintained appropriately.
