Job Description

At GRS - Global Recruitment Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Freight Forwarder to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across the globe.

Responsibilities
  • Route Optimization: Research and determine the most optimal shipping routes for each shipment, taking into account factors such as cost, time, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency: Leverage our technology platform to streamline and enhance operational efficiency, ensuring that all tasks are executed in line with company operating procedures.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to company-wide quality standards and processes, maintaining compliance with established quality systems such as AEO, ISO, and others.
  • Relationship Building: Foster and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, guaranteeing that all tasks are executed in line with company operating procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Collect, verify, and prepare all necessary documentation to meet customs, insurance, packaging requirements, and adhere to international regulations and fiscal policies.
  • Visibility and Control: Maintain full visibility and control throughout the entire shipping process, including generating management reports and conducting statistical and cost analysis.
  • Customs Procedures: Handle customs procedures or arrange for subcontracted services as needed.
  • Job Details: Input complete job details into the Cargowise system.
Customer Service
  • Client Communication: Keep clients informed on the status of their shipments, ensuring they are always updated on progress while fostering a culture of excellence in customer service.
  • Business Development: Work with business development teams and Branch Managers to grow both existing accounts and new business opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Actively build and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and site visits.
  • Product and Service Offering: Utilize the company's unique products and service offerings to identify and pursue new business prospects.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Maximize every opportunity to assist customers, driving both customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Problem Solving: Approach problems proactively, seeking solutions before issues escalate.
  • Insurance and Claims: Coordinate insurance arrangements and support clients through any claims processes.
  • Cost-Effective Solutions: Offer guidance on the most cost-effective and efficient ways to transport goods.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with customers, team members, and external partners to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery.
  • Alternative Solutions: Provide alternative solutions when necessary to minimize disruption to scheduled deliveries in the event of changes.
Finances
  • Task Completion: Guarantee that all tasks are completed and invoices are processed promptly.
  • Credit Control: Collaborate with the Finance Team to manage credit control and reduce the risk of bad debts.
  • Overhead Expenses: Partner with Finance to monitor and control overhead expenses.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local auditing standards and government regulations.
  • Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Operations: Coordinate with the team and Finance to ensure smooth operations at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
