Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Care New England Health System. In this role, you will play a vital part in the preparation and distribution of medications, as well as maintaining accurate records and databases.

You will work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist to ensure that all medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently, while also communicating with nursing staff to resolve any issues related to medication administration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Medication Preparation and Distribution: Fills and delivers medication through Pyxis Med Station RX System, verifying the accuracy of prescriptions and ensuring timely delivery to patients.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintains accurate records of medication stock levels, ordering and stocking medications as needed to prevent stockouts.
  3. Patient Care: Provides excellent patient care by preparing and delivering medications, responding to patient inquiries, and collaborating with the Clinical Pharmacist to address patient concerns.
  4. Quality Assurance: Participates in regular quality assurance activities, such as competency assessments and proficiency testing, to ensure that you are performing at the highest level.
  5. Communication: Communicates effectively with the Clinical Pharmacist, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid state Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacist Limited license, and National Certified Pharmacy Technician Affiliation (NCPTA) preferred. Minimum one-year pharmacy technician experience is required, demonstrating your ability to excel in a dynamic healthcare setting.
