Job Summary

As a Permitting Officer Grade 4 at the Environment Agency, you will play a vital role in protecting the environment by assessing applications for environmental permits and licenses. This is a challenging and varied role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for assessing applications for environmental permits and licenses, working with a range of partners, and supporting key functions including flooding and environmental response.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess applications for environmental permits and licenses
- Work with a team of permitting officers to assess a caseload of applications
- Work on environmental permitting legislation
- Make decisions on applications

Requirements

- Experience in environmental permitting or a related field
- Strong technical skills, including experience of working with and analysing data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time and workload
