Permitting Officer Grade 4 Specialist

We are seeking a talented Permitting Officer Grade 4 Specialist to join our team at the Environment Agency. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing applications for environmental permits and licenses, and making decisions on applications.
As a Permitting Officer Grade 4 Specialist, you will work independently on complex permits, coach and mentor junior staff, and develop relationships with a range of partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess applications for environmental permits and licenses
- Make decisions on applications
- Work independently on complex permits
- Coach and mentor junior staff
- Develop relationships with partners
- Relevant experience in environmental permitting or regulation
- Technical competence in permitting and regulation
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Great IT skills, including experience of working with and analysing data
