Job Opportunity: Primary School Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at an excellent primary school in Northumberland. The successful candidate will support pupils across various age groups on a full-time basis, working closely with the class teacher to promote positive learning outcomes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and contribute to their educational development. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to students with special educational needs, managing challenging behavior, and building strong relationships with teachers and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN and challenging behavior
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive and proactive manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with class teachers to support pupil development
  • Prepare learning materials and resources for lessons
  • Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies to discuss pupil progress

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a resilient, compassionate approach to teaching and learning, with excellent relationship-building skills. A background in childcare or education is preferred but not essential. We offer a competitive salary of £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
