About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and adaptable Classroom Support Specialist to join our team at an outstanding school located in Northumberland.

This role is critical for delivering students' personalised assistance so they can thrive both academically and socially.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with their learning and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a classroom of students, ensuring they remain focused on their work and adhere to the school's behaviour policies.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and resources left by the absent teacher.
  • Support students with their learning and address any questions or issues that arise during the lesson.
  • Maintain a positive and conducive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and participation.
  • Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding the behaviour and progress of students during their absence.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working in an educational setting, ideally in a supervisory or classroom setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
