Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a highly skilled Rail Engineering Manager to join their team in the UK. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of rail services.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Kuehne+Nagel locomotive fleet, as well as other rail rolling stock and equipment used in customer transport operations across the UK. This includes development, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance policies, plans, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure record keeping of all fleet is up-to-date and maintained within required servicing schedule requirements.
  • Become the Contract Manager for maintenance, spares, and other contracts.
  • Undertake technical training and competence assessment for Kuehne+Nagel staff working on locomotives and rolling stock.
  • Provide practical support, give technical advice, and undertake fault finding, inspection, or maintenance when necessary.
  • Liaise with the Entity in Charge of Maintenance for the Main Line wagon fleet.
  • In-depth understanding of locomotive diesel engines, transmission, electrical, braking, and ancillary systems.
  • Experience of controlling the maintenance, repair, and inspection of T&RS or mechanically propelled equipment.
  • Engineering qualification to at least HNC level and Membership of the Institution of Mechanical or Electrical Engineers, or equivalent.

Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also have access to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, pension scheme, and annual leave.
