Speech and Language Therapist with Expertise in Adult Learning Disabilities

We are seeking an exceptional Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as a Principal, specializing in Adult Learning Disabilities. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert advice and guidance on the management and care of Adults with learning disabilities and resultant physical and psychosocial problems.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapy Treatment plans for individuals with complex needs.
  • As a specialist in Adult Learning Disabilities, you will have extensive experience working with complex adults with learning disabilities and a proven track record of providing high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of national policies and procedures relevant to the specialist client group and be able to demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement functional programmes for adults with learning disabilities, appropriate to individual ability levels, goals, and the environment.
  2. Provide education and training for adults with learning disabilities and their carers in the implementation of activity/functional programmes.
  3. Contribute to the development and expansion of services, in conjunction with the Team Operational Managers and Consultant Speech and Language Therapist.
